Installing Debian Etch

Install Debian Etch in your PC

Download Debian Etch Net Install iso image from Debian's website. Burn the iso image to CD and install it in your server. After you booted from the CD, the installer will ask you to press the ENTER key.

Press ENTER to start the installation

Select the ENGLISH language

Choose the Country where you live

Select which keyboard layout to use, in my case I choose the American English keyboard layout.

Debian installer will try to detect any IP Address if you are connected to DHCP server.

However if you are not connected to any DHCP server, you have to configure your IP Address manually.

Enter your IP Address

then your Subnet Mask

your Gateway

and your DNS server IP Address

Confirm your configured parameters by pressing YES

Enter your hostname or computer name

and your domain name

To partition your Hard Drive, choose Guide - use the entire disk

Choose which Drive to use
