How to Reset Cisco 2600 Router to Factory Defaults
To reset your Cisco 2600 router, just follow the instructions from this link.
If you forgot your router's password (enable password, enable secret, console) you need to reset your router through ROMmon.
To access the ROMmon mode, start your minicom and reboot your router. Upon booting send the CTR+BREAK sequence by pressing CTRL-A F on your keyboard.

Then type this command to change the router's configuration register to 0x2142.
You must reset or power cycle for new config to take effect
You can now login to the router without password. Configure your router again and set your password.
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
Router(config)#enable secret secretpassword
Then change your configuration register to its default value 0x2102
Verify your configuration register if its set to its default value. Issue this command.
